Birmingham, AL – October 23, 2002. A Sid and Marty Krofft ‘70s children show will be revisited with a worldwide, free fan reunion teleconference on Sunday, November 10, at 2 pm CST or 8 pm GMT. The entire cast including popular main characters Caroline Ellis (Joy),
John Philpott (Courage), John McIndoe (I.Q.) and Wayne Laryea (Harmony) will be on the reunion teleconference.
In 1970, fresh from their first hit show, H.R. Pufnstuf brothers, Sid and Marty Krofft, introduced their second Saturday morning offering: The Bugaloos. The offbeat adventures of four British teenagers (with wings and antennae), The Bugaloos was a prototypical Krofft show, mixing live actors with puppets, musical interludes, and fanciful sets.
“The Bugaloos, H.R. Pufnstuf, and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters are all great shows adults my age have fond memories of and when I found Bill Ung’s website, I was delighted to be able to find a source to purchase the new videos of the Bugaloos series for my children,” said Mark Jackson, CEO, Moreson Conferencing, Inc., and avid Bugaloos fan, “These shows are far better for my two boys to watch than what’s on the TV today. This teleconference is fondly dedicated to four kids and a firefly who made my childhood more joyful with great children’s stories and great music.”
AND IT HAPPENED!
The first teleconference in November 10, 2002 was a smashing success! Truly an historic occasion, which lasted 3 hours, this marked the first time in 32 years the cast had been together. Cast members who participated included Caroline Ellis (Joy), John Philpott (Courage), Wayne Laryea (Harmony), John McIndoe (I.Q.), Walker Edmiston (the voice of Sparky), Sharon Baird (Funky Rat), Joy Campbell (Woofer), and Van Snowden (Tweeter). Fans were given the opportunity to ask questions, and the cast thrilled the fans with stories and laughs aplenty! I have to say that the cast are remarkable people. Gracious, loving and genuine. The world is a better place for them. * A very special thank you to Bill Ung and Mark Jackson. You've earned your wings!
AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!
On June 13th, 2004, the second Bugaloos' teleconference was held, made possible again by Mark Jackson, CEO of Moreson Conferencing.
Another smashing success, the cast joined fans for tons of laughs and stories. The conference lasted for hours, and I have to say the cast sounded as if they just stepped off the set of the Bugaloos!
We hope to still pull off a Bugaloos reunion in person!
